TUCSON – After a very wet Thursday of weather – 6″ of rain fell on Mt. Lemmon – Mother Nature and more importantly Father Winter is far from being over.

Much drier weather arrives over the weekend but the air-mass will also be much cooler. Both weekend days will feature partly sunny skies with highs in the 60s – nearly 10 degrees below average.
Late Sunday through Tuesday we will be tracking a very cold storm system moving in from the Gulf of Alaska. Light rain, and mountain snow will be intermittent through this period. The snow level, however, will lover to 3000′. It is also possible that it lowers a little more early Tuesday morning. This could put snow showers on the Valley floors.
Daytime highs will lower to the low 50s for much of the workweek ahead.
The next storm system, also a cold one, arrives Thursday and Friday. This system will be cold but should keep the snow in the mountains. The difference with this weather maker will be the amount of precipitation it carries.
While still nearly a week away, early projections indicate that up to 2 feet of snow could fall in the highest summits while Valley rain could approach 1″.
Long term forecast tools indicate that the well below average temperatures could stick around through the end of the month.
