It’s Lyrid time

Heads up – it’s time to see the Lyrid Meteor Shower. This annual meteor shower is one of the best shows we get all year long. They peak late tonight and into Tuesday morning and up to 20 meteors can be seen per hour in the dark sky.  What’s neat about the Lyrid’s is that often times you may see a streak that follows the meteor – and can stay illuminated for several seconds.  Weather conditions should be almost optimal with mainly clear skies and temperatures into the 50s and 60s.

Meteor showers like the Lyrids happen when the Earth passes through a dusty debris trail left behind by a comet.
