While Phoenix was the latest city to topple triple digits, the City of Tucson came up just shy at 97 degrees for the second Friday in a row.
Strong high pressure will slide to the south over the weekend and open the door to some slightly cooler air temperatures. Both Saturday and Sunday will feature sunny skies with highs in the mid and low 90s respectively.
Early next week a moisture-starved area of low pressure will slide in the region from the State of California. This feature will kick the winds up and lower temperatures even more. Most of next week highs will range from the mid-to-upper 80s under mostly sunny skies. Fire danger will be on the rise with the dry, breezy and warm conditions.
It looks like Tucson escapes the month of April without reaching 100 degrees, and we’ll see what May has in store.
