Today’s high temperature in Tucson of 71 degrees is not only 22 degrees below average, but one of the coolest May 20ths on record.

How rare was today’s weather? Well, it was snowing for most of today on top of Mt. Lemmon.
With these cooler temperatures, a Freeze Warning has been issued throughout portions of Southern Arizona tonight. This does not include the City of Tucson, but includes areas seen below. Temperatures are expected to drop into the mid-to-upper 20s in these warned areas.
Here’s some irony for you at its finest: yesterday is the day Tucson hits 100 degrees on average.
Warmer temperatures are in the forecast for the remainder of the workweek, however, still remaining well below seasonal averages. The average high for late May is in the mid 90s.
Hard to believe a week from today is the unofficial start of summer, and Icebreak 2019 seems to loom nowhere in sight.
