We can’t make this stuff up; more snow fell on Mt Lemmon this morning, making it the second time this week (yes, this is the end of May). This time, up to 2 inches of snow fell on the mountain top.
Ever since records have been kept, this May has been the 36th coolest on record (this goes all the way back to 1895). Better yet- when records were moved to TUS in 1946, it sits at the 13th coolest.
Only 7 days this month have been at or above average. If you’re wondering just how cool it has been, it’s been nearly 4 degrees cooler than expected.
Cooler than average temperatures are in the forecast for the rest of May, minimizing the possibility of our first 100 in May, and pushing it into June.
