It seems like by the time Summer officially arrives, it has felt like Summer for many weeks.
Well Summer began today and the high temperature in the City of Tucson topped off at 99 degrees: 3 ticks below average. We are also averaging 6 fewer 100 degree days up to this point in the calendar year.
Mid-to-upper 90s rule the roost for the weekend with daytime highs and mid 60s for nighttime lows. Breezy conditions will persist on Saturday as another area of low pressure sweeps to the north.
MONSOON UPDATE: By the middle of next week an area of high pressure will move closer to the region and increase temperatures to above average readings. More importantly the flow around this feature will usher in more moisture.
Late next week we could see some isolated storms near the New Mexico border. This is typically the first place we see storms before our daily round of storms begin. So signs are finally pointing to a pattern which could finally bring conditions needed to see our Summer rain.
