Slow start to Monsoon 2019, but here’s some Tucson rain

In what’s been a very slow start to Monsoon 2019. some sparse fell across Metro Tucson on Sunday.

Rainfall amounts were light and very spotty through out the City. The top 5 wettest spots are listed below.

A trough of low pressure was cruising through the Great Basin today and this feature will scour out additional moisture for storm development into the first part of the new week.

Our forecast tools indicate that by late next week high pressure will set up closer to the Four Corners. This is a favorable position to usher in more moisture to make storms by the end of the week.

Until then, expect hot and dry conditions over the area. Monday will be a breezy day courtesy of the low pressure moving through.
